Mileage allowance

Also called included kilometres

A mileage allowance is the distance included in the hire price, beyond which a per-unit charge applies.

Usually expressed per day and totalled over the hire. It exists because distance is what actually consumes a vehicle: two hires of the same length can differ by a service interval depending on how far each went.
