What is happening, and what is about to

The shape of the month, the certificates about to lapse, and a record of who changed what.

Today

The month so far, against the one before it

Bookings per day, what is out right now, and what is going wrong, on the screen the desk opens first.

The Rent Ride home screen: bookings per day over the last ninety days, active rentals, and what needs attention.
Needs attention is a list
The things worth acting on are named and counted, rather than left to be spotted.
Always against a comparison
Every figure is shown next to the period it should be read against, because a number on its own says nothing.
Counted, not entered
Nothing here is typed in. It is the bookings, the vehicles and the invoices, added up.

Compliance

Nothing lapses on a car already out

Every certificate watched against its own reminder window, ordered by how soon it runs out.

The compliance monitor in Rent Ride, listing documents by how soon each one expires.
Its own notice period
An insurance policy and a road tax disc do not deserve the same warning, so each document carries its own window.
Unwatched is not the same as fine
Paperwork with no expiry set is counted separately, rather than counted as in order.
Soonest first
The list is ordered by how close the date is, so the top of it is the work.

The trail

Who changed what, and when

A record of the changes made in your workspace, kept for as long as your plan keeps it.

The activity trail in Rent Ride, showing each change with the person who made it.
The person and the record
Every entry names who did it and what they did it to.
Written as it happens
The trail is written by the software, so it cannot be tidied up afterwards.
Kept to a stated window
Fourteen days on Professional and ninety on Enterprise. On Starter nothing is written at all, rather than written and hidden.

And what the figures answer

The questions an operator has to answer before buying the next vehicle.

Revenue per day

And the average value of a rental, which is the number the fleet is judged on.

Earnings by class

Which categories earn, rather than which ones are merely busy.

Utilisation

How much of the fleet is actually out, by vehicle and by type.

Deposits held

Kept apart from revenue, because money you are holding is not money you have made.

Lost to cancellations

Counted on its own, so the pattern is visible.

Per branch

Revenue and bookings side by side, on Enterprise.

About the figures

What the numbers mean, said before you rely on them.

Is revenue counted when the booking is made or when it is paid?
As booked, against the month the rental starts in, and the page says so. It is gross revenue before tax and collection.
Are all documents given the same notice period?
No. An insurance policy and a road tax disc do not deserve the same warning, so each document carries its own reminder window and is judged against that.
Which plans keep an activity trail?
Professional keeps fourteen days and Enterprise ninety. Starter keeps none: nothing is written and nothing can be read, rather than a page that hides a table it is still filling.
