Every vehicle, and what it is doing today

One record per vehicle, from the plate on the front to the rate it goes out on and the week it is due back in the workshop.

The fleet

What you own, on one list

Make, model, plate and state, with the ones that need attention saying so rather than waiting to be found.

The rentals list in Rent Ride, with each vehicle’s name, make and model, plate and status.
State decides bookability
In service, off the road or being repaired, and the booking flow only offers the first.
A publish gate
A half finished vehicle cannot be offered by accident. It goes on the road when you say it does.
Photographs stay with it
Kept on the vehicle rather than in somebody’s phone.

Rates

Written once, applied to everything in the class

What a category costs by the day and by the week, so a new vehicle in that category is priced the day it is added.

Rental plans in Rent Ride, with daily and weekly rates against a vehicle class.
Priced by class
A plan applies to a category rather than to one car, which is what stops the rates drifting apart.
Longer is cheaper
Daily and weekly rates on the same plan, and the booking uses the one that fits its length.
Every quote agrees
The desk quotes from the plan, so two people quoting the same hire quote the same number.

Maintenance

Off the road, and out of the quote

Book a vehicle into the workshop and it stops being offered for those dates, without anybody having to remember.

Maintenance in Rent Ride: service jobs against vehicles, with the dates each one is off the road.
It blocks availability
The window it is off comes out of availability, so it cannot be promised while it is on a ramp.
The history stays with the car
What was done, when and what it cost, kept on the vehicle rather than with whoever booked it in.
Spend by category
The pattern is visible before it is expensive.

And what each record carries

The detail that makes a fleet handoverable rather than held in one person’s head.

The basics

Plate, class, gearbox, fuel, seats and mileage on one record.

Your own classes

Vehicle types named the way you name them, which is what the rates apply to.

Documents and expiry

Insurance, registration and inspection on the vehicle, each watched to its date.

Odometer at handover

Mileage in and out on every hire, so the record matches the dash.

Fields of your own

Anything your fleet needs recorded that we do not already ask for.

Earnings per vehicle

Which ones carry the fleet, and which are being carried.

About running the fleet

The questions that decide whether the next vehicle pays for itself.

How many vehicles can I manage?
The number of vehicles is what separates the plans: Starter and Professional each cover a fixed number, and Enterprise has no limit at all.
Can I stop a vehicle being booked while it is in the workshop?
Yes, that is what an off road period does: the vehicle is unavailable for the window and the booking flow will not offer it.
Do I have to price every vehicle separately?
No. A rental plan is written against a class, and every vehicle assigned to that class is quoted from it, including ones added later.
