Loss damage waiver

Also called ldw

A loss damage waiver covers both damage to and theft of the vehicle, going further than a collision damage waiver, which covers damage alone.

The distinction matters where a vehicle is stolen rather than crashed: a hirer holding CDW alone can still be liable for the whole value. Which is offered, and at what excess, varies by market and by operator.
