Handover

Also called check-out

The handover is the moment a vehicle passes to the hirer, when condition, fuel and mileage are recorded and the agreement is signed.

It is the single most valuable five minutes in a rental business. Everything you can later prove about the state of the vehicle, and everything you can charge for on return, depends on what was written down here.
