Booking reference

Also called ra number, reservation number

A booking reference is the short human-readable code identifying one rental, used on paperwork, invoices and at the counter.

It wants to be short enough to read over a phone and structured enough to sort. Most operators use a prefix, a date part and a running number, which is why the format is usually configurable.
