Availability

Availability is which vehicles can genuinely be hired for a given period, after bookings, maintenance, off-road time and turnaround are taken out.

The word is often used to mean "what is in the yard", which is where the trouble starts. Real availability is a calculation, not a list, and it is wrong the moment anything is kept in a separate place.
